ECWSF is excited to offer for auction what appears to be a lifetime opportunity to rifle hunt for trophy elk and deer (whitetail or mule deer) on a private, family-owned ranch property that has been in business for over 40 years.
On behalf of the ECWSF, the leadership within the Montana Wild Sheep Foundation approached this Ranch Owner with the idea of putting this hunt together as a fundraising auction item for our 35th anniversary EXPO.
This hunt is primarily for 6X6 elk. There are some nice quality mule deer, however there are more whitetail deer on the property.
The ranch operation has diligently managed the quality of the elk herd in their area to a point where 300” elk are not uncommon, and bulls scoring over 350” are a potential.
This is a horseback hunt on gentle ranch broke horses where we seldom ride over an hour from camp. This is a family operation where hunters will be guided by family members who are very experienced.
The general location of the ranch is right in the middle of the renowned Paradise Valley of which the Yellowstone River runs through it. The ranch is loaded with elk and deer, both whitetail and mule deer, and also bighorn sheep, mountain goats and other miscellaneous small game. The ranch is nestled next to the rugged Absaroka Wilderness Area. Another main attraction nearby is the famous Yellowstone National park which is only 35 miles to the south.
Hunters can either travel by vehicle to the ranch or fly into Bozeman MT. where the outfitter will arrange for pickup and delivery at no added cost. Nonresident license details are coordinated with RSO. Through a current preference point process, hunters can confidently plan on drawing a license.
Hunt details: 2 hunters, private land, horseback, fair chase, combo elk/deer (whitetail/mule deer), 5 day hunt, October 30th-November 3rd, 2028, hunt location is south central Montana on the Petrich Ranch in Paradise Valley – 35 miles north of Yellowstone, lodging in cabins with meals provided.
Not included: gratuities, meat processing, taxidermy.
This is an extremely good hunt and will require a solid bid to win this donation.
Value: $35,000
